ABOUT
We are Nordic, a team started by four Mechatronics Engineering students at the University of Waterloo as part of our final design project. As students, we have spent precious time right before our classes funnelling our spare change towards getting a coffee. The time and the money spent towards obtaining this coffee only to have it cool down within 10 minutes is a pain point for us.

Every beverage has an optimal temperature that is tastes best at. For example, coffee tastes best at 58 degrees Celsius whereas iced tea tastes best at a chilled temperature. Scarfing down a scalding coffee within 10 minutes just to enjoy the taste isn't a good enough option either.
We aim to create an active heating, active cooling beverage mug for on-the-go beverage consumers such as ourselves. The mug will be battery-powered and can be charged overnight to be used throughout the day. It can be operated at temperature ranges from 10 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius and it can hold a beverage at the temperature for up to 3 hours. Perfect for a study session in the library.

The end vision is to create a device that consumers can use to brew their own beverages while they are out of their homes, with ingredients they can pack.
